Coneflower Celebration card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects showcasing the paper piecing technique. I have made my card using the Coneflower Celebration stamp set and the Thoughtful Journey designer series paper (dsp).

Colours in my card are:

To recreate the coneflower celebration card, you will need:

Lost Lagoon card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper right corner
Secret Sea card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper right corner – for the inside
Scrap Thoughtful Journey dsp

Using Secret Sea ink, I stamped the head of the coneflower onto the 5⅜” by 3⅝” piece of Basic White card. This helps with placement when putting the card pieces together.

Onto the same panel I swirled on some Lost Lagoon ink with a Blending Brush and added some speckles with 2nd generation Lost Lagoon ink.

The sentiment was stamped in Lost Lagoon ink at the bottom of the panel and added the whole layer to the Secret Sea panel and added this to the Lost Lagoon card front.

  1. The detailed instructions are so helpful! I can see how the different layers of DSP and the coneflower stamp set create such a rich, dimensional effect. Have you tried experimenting with other color combinations using the paper piecing technique?

    • I am so happy you liked the card. I love the paper piecing technique and use it often with other stamp sets but this is the only time I have used it with the Coneflower stamp set. I really like the effect though and will definitely try other colour combos x
