Masked Trees Card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing projects using the masking technique. I have made my card using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set.

Colours used to make my card are:

To recreate the masked trees card, you will need:

Summer Splash card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5⅞” by 3”
Secret Sea card – 5⅞” by ⅜”
Basic White card – 5⅞” by ½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I stamped the tree in the centre of the 5⅞” by 3” panel of Basic White card using Secret Sea ink. The same image was stamped onto the Masking Paper using the same ink. I fussy cut the mask out rather than die cutting it as the mask needed to be cut along the stamped line.

The mask was then adhered over the stamped tree and the second tree stamped to the right of the original. The third tree was the stamped to the left of the first tree.

The mask was then peeled up and placed over the second tree before the fourth tree was stamped and moved again, placed over the third tree and the fifth tree was added.

The strips of Secret Sea card were glued to the top and bottom of the stamped panel and the whole piece was mounted onto the Summer Splash card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Pine Tree Trimmings stamp set was repeatedly stamped along the ½” strip of Basic White card with Secret Sea ink. The strip was added below the raised panel.
