Merry Tree card for the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing projects inspired by a sketch. I have used the Merriest Trees stamp set and Dies along with the Walk in the Forest dsp to make my card.

Colours in this project are:

To recreate the merriest trees card, you will need:

Old Olive card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Misty Moonlight card – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” x 2 – one for the inside
Walk in the Forest dsp – 5 ¾” long – I cut 2 at ½” wide and 1 at ¼” wide
Basic White strip – ¼” wide
Scrap Basic White card & Distressed Gold

I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to adhere the strips of designer series paper (dsp) to one of the 5½” by 3¾” panels of Basic White. The panel was then glued to the Misty Moonlight panel and then to the Old Olive card front.

The Christmas Tree, from the Merriest Trees stamp set was stamped in 2nd generation Old Olive ink onto scrap Basic White card.

Using full strength Old Olive ink I stamped the detail of the tree over the top of the previously stamped image. The tree was then die cut using the 2nd largest tree die from the Merriest Trees Dies.

The tree was added to the card front on Dimensionals. A star, die cut from scrap Distressed Gold paper and added to the top of the tree.

The sentiment was stamped in Old Olive ink onto the thin strip of Basic White which I then cut down before adding it to the card front. A trio of Blooming Pearls completed the card.

  1. Mo, love this card. Just not sure about the stamping of the tree. You used just old olive? It almost looks like maybe two colors? Also did you use a stamp platform? Could you explain a bit? Thanks for the ideas!

    • Hi Debbie, I did only use Old Old ink for the tree. The large solid image was stamped with 2nd generation ink, so you ink up the stamp, stamp onto scrap paper then stamp again onto your cardstock, this gives a lighter shade of the same colour. The more detailed image was then stamped over the top with full strength Old Olive ink. It was really easy to line up and being a photopolymer stamp I didn’t need to use a stamp positioner. I am glad you liked the card. x
