Hello and welcome to the Stamping Dreams Blog Hop where we are sharing Holiday packaging. I have made a pretty, hexagon, gift bag to hold a necklace for my daughter. I saw this sweet box on Youtube made by Crafty Karen designs
Colours used to make the ornamental hexagon gift bag are:
To recreate the ornamental hexagon gift bag, you will need:
Balmy Blue card – 8½” by 5½” Traditions of Christmas dsp – 3⅜” by 1⅞” x 2 Scrap Basic White
Using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool, I scored the piece of Balmy Blue at 2”, 4”, 6” and 8”. I rotated the card 90° and scored again on the short side at 2”.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty hexagonal gift bag made using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set and dies and the Traditions of Christmas dsp – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop
I placed the scored Balmy Blue card onto the Silicon Craft Sheet and used the scoring tool to score an X, from corner to corner in the 2nd and 4th rectangles – see template. I then scored from the centre of the X to the top of the same rectangles.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty hexagonal gift bag made using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set and dies and the Traditions of Christmas dsp – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop
I added the panels of dsp to the unscored rectangles and folded and burnished on all the full lines. Using my fingers I lightly manipulated the X’s scores.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty hexagonal gift bag made using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set and dies and the Traditions of Christmas dsp – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop
Using scissors, I cut off the small rectangle from the ½” tab and wedged the longer side. I then cut up each of the 4 square bottom tabs, removing the score line.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty hexagonal gift bag made using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set and dies and the Traditions of Christmas dsp – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop
Glue was applied to the ½” tab and the box was closed. The bottom flaps were then closed and the last one glued into position.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty hexagonal gift bag made using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set and dies and the Traditions of Christmas dsp – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop
A handheld ¼” punch was used to make holes at the top of the front and back panels. Ribbon was fed through to hold the box closed.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty hexagonal gift bag made using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set and dies and the Traditions of Christmas dsp – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty hexagonal gift bag made using the Ornamental Christmas stamp set and dies and the Traditions of Christmas dsp – Stamping Dreams Blog Hop
The sentiment, from the same stamp set was then stamped in Night of Navy ink onto the same scrap card. I punched it out with a 1” circle punch. These were added to the front of the box on Dimensionals.

Hello and welcome to the Stamping With Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on. When I saw the Petals of Beauty Dies, especially the large leafy die, my immediate thought was ‘paper piecing’ and that is what I have used to make my card.
To recreate the paper pieced leafy spray card, you will need:
Pool Party card base – 8 ¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” Secret Sea card – 4⅞” by 3⅜” Basic White card – 5¼” by 4” Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside Scrap Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Pool Party & Secret Sea
Using the Textured Notes Dies, I die cut a decorated rectangle from the 5¼” by 4” panel of basic White card.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
I die cut the leafy spray from scrap pieces of Fresh Freesia, Berry Burst, Pool Party & Secret Sea using the large die from the Petals of Beauty dies. A Take Your Pick Tool was used to free all the pieces from the die, one colour at a time, taking care to keep the leaves in the correct position.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
The Secret Sea outline leafy die cut was then adhered to the die cut Basic White rectangle. At this point I realised it would have been a lot easier if I had adhered double sided adhesive sheet to the back of each scrap piece…….. don’t you love hindsight!
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
The infill leaf pieces were then inlaid into the Secret Sea outline; I used all the colours.
www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Petals of Beauty Dies and the Simply Said stamp set used to make a pretty paper pieced leafy spray birthday card – Stamping With Friends Blog Hop
The sentiment from the Simply Said stamp set was stamped in the lower left corner using Secret Sea ink. The whole decorated panel was then glued to the Secret Sea layer. I then added the panel to the Pool Party card front on Dimensionals.
