Playing in the Rain Slider card for the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop where we are sharing Magic Slider cards. I have to admit I have never made one of these so resorted to YouTube for a bit of inspiration. After watching a few video’s I decided to have a go using the Playing in the Rain stamp set.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the playing in the rain card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Window Sheet – 5½” by 3¾”
Rain or Shine dsp – 5½” by 3¾”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3⅜”
Scrap Basic Black

I began by using one of the Rectangle Stitched Dies to cut the centre out of the panel of Rain or Shine dsp. I set it aside.

I set up the cute bunny stamp from the Playing In The Rain stamp set on one of my Stamparatus Plates. The Window Sheet panel was added to the base of the Stamparatus, the image inked up with StaZon Jet Black and stamped onto the Window Sheet. I then set it aside to dry.

I placed the 5½” by 3¾” panel of Basic White card onto the Stamparatus, inked the image with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped down. I added the clouds using the same ink. Using the Stamparatus means that I can be sure that the images are in exactly the same place on both the Basic White card and the Window Sheet.

Using the following Blends Alcohol Pens I coloured in the image stamped on the Basic White panels – Balmy Blue, Petal Pink and Poppy Parade. Using a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink I added some colour around the stamped image.

When the Window Sheet was dry I placed strips of Tear ‘n Tape on the back of the dsp frame on all 4 sides and added the frame over the Window Sheet.

Foam Adhesive Strips were added along both sides of the decorated Basic White panel, as close to the edges as possible. A strip of Foam Adhesive was also placed about ¼” from the bottom to act as a stopper. The frame with the Window Sheet was then added over-top.

A hole was punched at the top of the 5¼” by 3⅜” panel of Basic White card and a length of Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon was inserted to act as a pull tab. The panel of Basic White card was then slipped down the gap between the coloured panel and the Window Sheet.

The sentiment from the Share a Milkshake stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink onto scrap Basic Black card. I covered it with White Embossing Powder and Heat set. I trimmed it out with Scissors before adding it to the card front.

I learnt a lot while putting this card together and will definitely be trying another one.

Please hop on to share the magic slider cards created by my stamping friends.
