A daisy patchwork themed thank you card made using the Lovely Blossoms designer series paper used with the Lovely Arrangements stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Daisy Patchwork Card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are creating using embossing folders. I have used the pretty Lovely Blossoms dsp and the new Lazy Daisy Embossing Folder to make my card which was inspired by a Youtube video from Alisa Tilsner

Colours used to make this card are:

I created the daisy patchwork card using the following supplies:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Basic White – 4¾” by 3⅝” – finished dimensions
Secret Sea – 1” by 1” x 12
Lovely Blossom dsp – 1” by 1” x 12

I glued each of the 1” squares of designer series paper to the 1” squares of Secret Sea card, with a small border showing at the bottom and right side.

These were then arranged onto the Basic White panel, which was originally larger, in four rows of three.

I hadn’t managed to get them straight or the borders even so started to trim down the top, bottom and both sides in an effort to make the layer even and straight. Inevitably, I kept cutting until there was no border left…………

At that point I ran the whole panel through the Cut & Emboss Machine with the Lazy Daisy Embossing Folder and hoped it would look OK. The panel was added to the card front on Dimensionals.

A card using the torn paper technique made using the Lovely Arrangements stamp set and the Thoughtful Journey dsp from Stampin' Up!

Torn Paper Effect Card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing torn paper techniques. The version of the torn paper technique I am sharing was very popular two or three years ago, but I never got around to trying it……. now is my chance. I have used the Thoughtful Journey designer series paper (dsp) to make my card.

Colours found in this card are:

To recreate the torn paper effect card, you will need:

Thick Basic White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Misty Moonlight Two Tone card – 5½” by 3¾”
Thoughtful Journey dsp – 5¼” by 2¾”
Basic White card – 2 ¼” by ½”

The piece of Thoughtful Journey dsp was adhered to the front of the Thick Basic White card front.

A card using the torn paper technique made using the Lovely Arrangements stamp set and the Thoughtful Journey dsp from Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Lovely Arrangements stamp set used with the Thoughtful Journey dsp to create a torn paper card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

I placed the panel of Misty Moonlight Two Tone card (lighter side uppermost) on top and worked out which part of the dsp I wanted to show and marked the card with a pencil.

I then carefully tore a strip down the centre of the card to just over half-way. Using a Bone Folder I curved the loose middle section and carefully rolled it up gluing it in place with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.
