The inked block technique used with the First Frost technique to make a thank you card

First Frost using the ink to block technique

Today I am sharing a sweet and simple card made using the First Frost stamp set and the ink to block technique.

Making the card

You will need;
Lemon Lime Twist card base
Basic Black – 5½” by 3¾”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” x 2

I began by inking up my size ‘D clear block’ by pressing it into the Lemon Lime Twist ink pad until it was well covered. I then spritzed it with water, about 3 fine mist sprays and laid it down on the piece of Whisper White. I left it there for about a minute before lifting the block off. The block can then be cleaned with a baby wipe.

The inked block technique used with the First Frost technique to make a thank you card

The Whisper White panel was then set to one side to dry. When it was completely dry I placed the panel in the Stamparatus.

The inked block technique used with the First Frost technique to make a thank you card

www.crafty-rootes.com – the First Frost stamp set by Stampin’ Up! used with the inked block technique

I placed the stamp onto from the First Frost stamp set onto the inked panel and picked it up on one of the plates. The stamp was inked with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and pressed down onto the inked panel. I repeated this step 3 times as I wanted a dark black image.

The sentiment from the Needle & Thread stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the Whisper White panel. The lower left corner was then rounded using the Detailed Trio Punch,

The stamped panel was added to a layer of Basic Black cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive; I had rounded the same lower left corner.

The whole piece was then added with the same glue to a Lemon Lime Twist card base. I stamped the same image in the Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the second panel of Whisper White and added it to the inside of the card.

www.crafty-rootes.com – the First Frost stamp set by Stampin’ Up! used with the inked block technique

I added a trio of Faceted Dots to complete the card front.

A really simple card using a simple technique. I hope you like it.
