Pretty Deer card

Here is a pretty card made using the deer from the pretty Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending. This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest a long time ago.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the deer card, you will need:

Peach Pie card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Early Espresso card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”
Scrap Basic White card

The trio of trees image was stamped in the upper left and lower right corner of the Peach Pie card base with Peach Pie ink.

Using strips of Masking Paper I masked off ¾” on the left side and the bottom of the 5” by 3¼” panel of Basic White card.

www.crafty-rootes.com – The Grassy Grove stamp set used with some ink blending to make a pretty thank you card.

I used a Blending Brush to add Melon Mambo ink to the corner of the masked area. Next, I added Peach Pie ink letting it fade off. The masking paper was then removed.

The pair of trees were stamped in Early Espresso ink, overlapping the edge of the ink blended area. The deer was also stamped in Early Espresso ink.

The stamped panel was then glued to the Early Espresso panel. At this point I decided to stamp the sentiment in Early Espresso directly onto the panel………. Big mistake as it wasn’t straight…… So I stamped it again onto scrap Basic White card and die cut it using one of the dies from the Greetings of the Season Dies. This cut down and glued over the original stamped sentiment.

I wrapped a length of Linen Thread around the top of the panel and added some 2024 -2026 In Color Shimmer Gems.

Such a pretty card.

A trio of sea turtles thank you card made using the Sea Turtles stamp set from Stampin' Up! and a card sketch

Trio of Sea Turtles card

I have challenged myself to use the card templates on page 22 of the annual catalogue to make my card today. I have used the Sea Turtles stamp set to make my card.

The colours used in this card are:

To recreate the trio of turtles’ card, you will need:

The Sea Turtles stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a trio of cards for my August 2024 classes

Sea Turtle Classes

Today I am sharing the cards I designed for my August classes using the Sea Turtles stamp set. This is a reversible stamp set where you can used both the front and the back of each stamp.

Colours used in these projects are:

Baby Turtles card

Pool Party card – 8¾” by 4⅛”– scored at 5⅞”
Calypso Coral – 5⅞” by 1” – Embossed using one of the Basics 3D Embossing Folders
Summer Splash – 5⅞” by ⅛”
Pecan Pie – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White – 5” by 3¼”
Pool Party – 3¼” by ⅜”
Calypso Coral – 3¼” by ¼”

I took 2 damp baby wipes, folded them in half, one on top of the other and placed them  inside an empty stamp case. You can use anything firm and waterproof such as a plate or the glass mat. Onto the folded up baby wipes I added about 10 – 12 drops of Calypso Coral re-inker, 10 – 12 drops of Coastal Cabana re-inker and 8 – 10 drops of Pecan Pie re-inker. The dots gradually sread, filling the space between them.

The back of the ‘bubble’ image was inked with Pool Party, stamped off twice then stamped over the stamped baby turtles to give the illusion of water. This was repeated all over the panel. The inked panel was then glued to the Pecan Pie panel.

A lovely dolphin themed note card made using the Under the Moon stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Under the Moon card

Today I am sharing a card made using the new Under the Moon stamp set. This stamp set is designed to create a scene and I used it to create a note card to cheer up a friend who loves dolphins.

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the under the moon card, you will need:

Azure Afternoon card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Basic Black card – 2¾” by ⅜”

I stamped the ‘sea’ image in Pool Party ink, twice at the bottom of the smaller panel of Basic White card.

Using Sponge Daubers, I applied Daffodil Delight, Calypso Coral and Azure Afternoon ink to the circular image. I stamped this above the ‘sea’. The sun was then added in Daffodil Delight ink.

I added the leaping dolphin using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The stamped panel was then glued to the Basic Black layer and mounted onto the Azure Afternoon card front.

The sentiment was stamped in Versamark ink onto the strip of Basic Black card. I covered the strip with White Embossing Powder and heat set it using my Heat Tool and added it to the card front.
