Distressed Bike Card – Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we have a Tic-Tac-Toe board to inspire us. I have chosen the top line – Distress, Blue, Bike. This was a real challenge as distress and vintage techniques don’t come easily to me. I am more of a clean and simple girl.

Colours used to make this card are:

I created the vase of distressed bike card using the following supplies:

Misty Moonlight White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Balmy Blue – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Mixed Up Patterns dsp – 3⅞” by 3⅝”
Basic White – 3⅞” by ½”
Misty Moonlight – 3⅞” by ½”
Basic White – 2” by 1”
Basic White – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Scrap Mixed Up Patterns dsp

I randomly stamped the flying bird from the Waterside Retreat stamp set all over the Balmy Blue layer using Balmy Blue ink. I then roughed up the edges of the panel using Scissors and inked around the edges with Misty Moonlight ink and a Blending Brush. I glued it, offset to the Misty Moonlight card front.

Using Garden Green ink, I stamped the smaller clump of grasses onto the piece of Mixed Up Patterns dsp. I then roughed up the edges with my scissors.

I distressed the bottom of the pieces of ½” wide strips of Basic White card and Misty Moonlight card before adding them to the bottom of the piece of dsp. The whole piece was then glued to the card front.

I added the bike – from the Lakeside Retreat Paper Pumpkin Kit on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Banner Sayings stamp set was stamped with Garden Green ink on the small piece of Basic White card and punched it out with the Three Banner Punch before adding it to the card front.

A cluster of ‘pebbles’ from the Lakeside Retreat Pumpkin Kit finished the card.

Please hop on to what my fellow demos have been inspired to create using this Tic-Tac-Toe board. Next up is the lovely Jan Musselman.
