A Fabulous Flirty Flamingo

I have been playing today with the Fabulous Flamingo stamp set. Considering I was a bit underwhelmed when I received this stamp set in the Prize patrol at Onstage in April, I seem to be using it quite a lot; it has definitely grown on me.

I stamped the ‘feathery outline’ image from the stamp set using Archival Basic Gray ink onto a panel of Whisper White cardstock. I then inked up the ‘solid body’ image with Flirty Flamingo Ink, stamped it once on my Grid Paper and then onto the ‘feathery image’ give a paler pink shade.  Lastly I covered the legs of the ‘full flamingo’ image with a post it note and inked up the main body part with the Flirty Flamingo ink, I didn’t want pink legs! I removed the post it note and stamped the image, full strength over the top of the images I have previously stamped. I then stamped the separate ‘leg’ image in Basic Gray ink. The flamingo was now complete and looked great.

I added the water using Marina Mist ink, reeds using Wild Wasabi ink and the leafy boughs using Old Olive ink. I layered the stamped panel onto a panel of Wild Wasabi cardstock using Tombow Liquid Adhesive before adding the whole panel to a Thick Whisper White panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. It looked a little plain so, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the body of the Flamingo after all, everything looks better with a bit of bling. I then did a splatter technique by smacking the Wink of Stella pen against a marker pen to scatter some glitter speckles randomly on the topper piece.

Check back to see what else I make with this set, I have some great ideas.
