Hometown Greetings for a secret Santa box

Today I am sharing the box I made for my team secret Santa gift. This box proved amazingly popular with the team members.To make it you will need the following;
Night of Navy cardstock 10¾ by 10¾
Whisper white cardstock 7⅜ by 7⅜
Whisper White cardstock pieces 4” by 3” x 5
Emerald Envy cardstock 3″ by 3″
Night of Navy cardstock 3″ by 3″
Whisper White cardstock 3″ by 3″
Scraps of Emerald Envy cardstock

I have added photo’s to the description but have used lighter coloured cardstock as the score lines show up better.

Score Lines for a box base

Start by using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool to score the 10¾” by 10¾” piece of Night of Navy cardstock at 3¾” and 7” then rotate the cardstock 90⁰ and score at 3¾” and 7” again – ignore the extra partial line on the right, it was a mistake!!!

Using scissors cut up each of the vertical lines but only as far as the horizontal line – see picture. Then take a small wedge from the right and left side of each of the 4 tabs and trim about 1″ from each tab to make them shorter. Fold and burnish on the score lines. Using strong adhesive, Tear and Tape or Fast Fuse; stick each of the tabs to the inside to form a sturdy box base.

Next, score the 7⅜” by 7⅜” piece of Whisper White cardstock at ½” and 2” on all 4 sides.

Fold and burnish on all the score lines. Apply a strong adhesive, Tear and Tape or Fast Fuse to the back of the 4 tabs and to the front of the 1/2″ score lines which will be folded over inside the lid to re-enforce the top.

Using the Hometown Greetings dies and the 5 pieces of 4” by 3” Whisper White cardstock and a Big Shot, die cut out the rows of houses.

I cut out the church row once, the row of larger houses 3 times and the smaller houses once. The pieces will be longer than you need, you can trim them to size. Also die cut the trees using a scrap of Emerald Envy cardstock, these can be glued on top of the white trees with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.

Take one of the rows of larger houses and die cut with a 2¾” Layering Circle Die. Glue this to the same size die cut circle from Night of Navy cardstock. Then add this to a slightly larger scalloped circle die cut from Emerald Envy cardstock and the Layering Circles dies.

I took each of the die cut rows of houses and ‘scribbled’ all over them with Tombow Liquid Adhesive and sprinkled them with lots of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.  The gorgeous, glittery houses can then be added to the sides of the box with Tombow Liquid Adhesive. The Layered Circles were then added to the top of the box with Stampin’ Dimensionals. The box held a gorgeous candle surrounded by a wintery scene.
