Jar of Love and Nailed It for a masculine card

I have had an idea rattling about in my head for the last week or so, but no time to actually try it out until this morning. I knew that the Jar of Love and Nailed It stamp sets would make a fab shaker card and in the right colours it makes a great masculine card.

I stamped the largest jar from the Jar of Love stamp set in Archival Basic Black ink onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Using the Big Shot and Multipurpose Platform I die cut the jar out using the co-ordinating Every Day Jars framelits, also cutting out the centre leaving just the rim of the jar. From a scrap of Window Sheet I die cut the largest jar shape again and glued it onto the back of the rim of the jar using Tombow Liquid Adhesive and set it aside to dry.

While I was waiting I die cut a number of bolts and screws from the from Silver Foil cardstock using the Build It framelits, these will be the shaker pieces inside my jar. When the jar piece was dry I added the Foam Adhesive Strips to the back making sure to leave no gaps for the bits to fall through.

I chose a piece of Seaside Shore dsp with a love blue ombre pattern and adhered it to a piece of Basic Black cardstock with Tombow Liquid Adhesive.  I placed the bolts and crews onto the dsp in a single layer, removed the backing tape from the Foam Adhesive Strips and add the jar over the top pressing down firmly. I then added the entire piece to a Pacific Point card base.

The sentiment, from the Nailed It stamp set, was stamped in Archival Basic Black ink onto a scrap of Very Vanilla cardstock and cut into a small flag shape using Scissors. It was stuck to the card front using Tombow Liquid Adhesive. I really liked the card but wondered if it needed another pop of colour. With this in mind I stamped the jar lid from the Jar of Love stamp set in Real Red ink and die cut it out using the Every Day Jars framelits.

Which version do you like – with the Real Red lid or without? Let me know.
