Magical Mermaid for a special Shaker Card

Today I am sharing a sweet card made using the Magical Mermaid stamp set. This is a special card for a friend who loves being a mermaid, she has even entered the Miss Mermaid competition and has a fabulous tail. I have used the Inspire Create challenge #047 sketch for this card.

To recreate the Magical Mermaid card you will need;

Coastal Cabana card base – 10” by 5” scored and folded at 5”
Highland Heather cardstock 4¾” by 4¾”
Whisper White cardstock 4½” by 4½” x 3
Window Sheet 4” by 4”
Scrap Whisper White and Shaded Spruce

I sponged Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Highland Heather inks onto one of the Whisper White panels. I used a little glycerine mixed with the inks to help them blend smoothly. I stamped the sea foliage on the inked panel in Mossy Meadow ink.

I inked up the mermaid in Versamark and stamped it onto some scrap Whisper White cardstock before covering it with Copper Embossing Powder. I heat set it with my heat tool then cut it out using my scissors.

I coloured the mermaid in using the following Blends Markers – Ivory, Bermuda Bay combo, Highland Heather combo, Pool Party combo & So Saffron light.

I die cut a circle from another of the Whisper White panels and added a piece of Window Sheet to the back using Mini Glue Dots in each corner. I took a dimensional strip and laid it onto the Window Sheet following the die cut circle and making sure there were no gaps. I added apinch of Iridescent sequins to the inked panel and laid the die cut panel over the top to form a shaker card.

This piece was then added to the Highland Heather layer then the Coastal Cabana card base using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The seaweed was die cut from Shaded Spruce cardstock  and adhered to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.The mermaid was added on Dimensionals and was given a coat of Clear Wink of Stella for an added bit of sparkle. To complete the card front I added a scattering of Iridescent Sequins.

The inside of the card was stamped using the Family Party and Bermuda Bay and Highland Heather inks. I used some retired dsp and the retired Envelope Punch Board to make an envelope.

I really like the colour palette of the card. I hope my friend likes it.
