A Brayer and cling film used with the Sea Turtle stamp set by Stampin' Up! to make a card for the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Sea Turtle card – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing cards made using a Brayer. I have chosen to use the Sea Turtle stamp set and some cling film or seran wrap!

Colours used in this card are:

To recreate the sea turtle card. You will need:

Parakeet Party card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Pretty Peacock card – 5⅛” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5” by 3¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Basic White card

I crumpled up a scrap piece of cling film and wrapped it around the roller of the Brayer keeping as many of the wrinkles in place as possible. I inked up the cling film by running the Brayer over the open Lost Lagoon ink pad a number of times to pick up the ink.

I rolled the brayer, multiple times, over the 5” by 3¼” piece of Basic White card, changing direction as I went. To clean off the residual ink, I rolled the cling film wrapped brayer over scrap paper. I inked up again with Pretty Peacock and rolled the ink multiple times across the Basic White card stock. I repeated the whole process again with Parakeet Party ink, building up the colour as I went.

The Grassy Grove stamp set by Stampin' Up! and some ink blending used to make a beautiful deer at sunset card

Deer at Sunset card

This deer at sunset card has been in my mind for a while and finally I have got around to making it. I have used the gorgeous Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending.

The colours in this card are:

To recreate the deer at sunset card, you will need:

Flirty Flamingo card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” – Rounded lower right corner
Basic Black card – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – Rounded lower right corner
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½” – Rounded lower right corner
Flirty Flamingo card – 3” by ½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded lower right corner – for the inside

Using the largest circle from the Stylish Shapes, I die cut a circle from a sheet of printer paper. This will act as a mask. The ‘mask’ was added over the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card. I used a little washi tape to hold the mask in place.

wwww.crafty-rootes.co.uk -A beautiful deer at sunset card made using the Grassy Grove stamp set and some ink blending

Using a Blending Brush, I swirled Lemon Lolly ink over the top three quarters of the negative circle. I added Daffodil Delight around the edge of the circle leaving the centre of the circle a lighter colour.

Flirty Flamingo ink was added to the bottom of the circle and the mask was then removed.

The sentiment from the Sending Smiles stamp set was originally stamped onto the stamped and inked panel below the meadow grass, but I really didn’t like it, so Plan B………. the sentiment was stamped again in Memento Tuxedo black ink onto a piece of Flirty Flamingo card. I die cut it using a die from the Sending Dies and added it, on Dimensionals, over the wrongly stamped sentiment……….much better.

The larger circle, from the Watercolor Shapes stamp set, was inked up by pressing the Parakeet Party ink pad to one half and the Fresh Freesia pad to the other half. I stamped down onto scrap paper before stamping in the centre of my pencil circle. The pencil line was then erased.  The sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set was stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink in the centre of the inked circle and the panel was then glued in place.

I stamped a variety of flowers onto scrap Basic White card in Daffodil Delight, Fresh Freesia and Gorgeous Grape inks and die cut them using the Sending Dies. I also die cut some leaves from Parakeet Party card, and cut them apart.

Swimsuits for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Colour Combo Blog Hop where I have made a pretty swimsuit themed card using the Sunny Splash stamp set and the following colours:

To recreate the swimsuits card, you will need:

Coastal Cabana card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 4⅛” by 2⅛”
Real Red card – 4¼” by 1” x 2
Basic White strip – ¼” wide
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

I chose 3 of the swimsuits from the Sunny Splash stamp set and randomly stamped them all over the Coastal Cabana card base in Costal Cabana ink.

The 3 swim suits were stamped again across the 4⅛” by 2⅛” piece of Basic White card. I started with the centre one in Coastal Cabana ink. The second swimsuit was stamped in Real Red and the third swimsuit in Blackberry Bliss ink.

Using the Penned Flowers Dies, I die cut the scalloped edge from both strips of Real Red card. These were glued to the top and bottom of the stamped panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The panel was added to the card front on Dimensionals.
