Totally Trees is a gorgeous stamp set from the Autumn/Winter catalogue which totally passed me by on my first look through. How did that happen……. To be honest I probably got side-tracked by all the gorgeous Christmas stuff….
This week I needed to make an anniversary card for some friends. They love their garden and are big fans of being outdoors so Totally Trees seemed like a perfect choice.
The 4 trees were stamped in a line in Chocolate Chip Ink onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. I stamped trees 1 and 4 first as this gave me better spacing for trees 2 and 3. I wanted to show the tree in all seasons, starting with spring I planned to
Tree 1 – Spring, the leaves were stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink and tiny blossoms were added using the small spray of leaves and Pink Pirouette ink. Tree 2 – Summer, the leaves are stamped using Cucumber Crush ink. In hindsight I would probably use Garden Green which is less bright. Tree 3 – Autumn, I used the small spray of leaves again and Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Delightful Dijon and Pumpkin Pie Inks. Tree 4 – Winter, as many trees are deciduous I left this tree leafless.
I ‘grounded’ the trees using 3rd generation Chocolate Chip Ink and stamped the sentiment, which comes from the Banners For You stamp set, using Delightful Dijon ink. The stamped piece was then added to a mat of Delightful Dijon cardstock and this panel was added with dimensionals to a Thick Whisper White card base.
