A striking Christmas card made using the Pine Tree Trimmings and Woodland Scenery Stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

O Christmas Tree card – Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping Inkspirations Blog Hop where we are sharing projects inspired by sounds of the season. I have made a clean and simple oh Christmas tree card using the Pine Tree Trimmings stamp set.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the Oh Christmas Tree card, you will need:

Coastal Cabana card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Night of Navy card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I tore a scrap of printer paper from side to side. Separated the pieces leaving a gap and adhered them in place with the 5¼” by 3½” piece of Basic White card beneath, secured on either side with Washi Tape.

Using a Blending Brush I swirled on Coastal Cabana ink in the gap between the paper edges. With the paper pieces still in place I stamped the tiny trio of snowflakes randomly over the inked strip. The papers were then removed.

A Mountain Scene piece of home decor made using the Scenic Adventures stamp set from Stampin' Up! with an ink blending technique

Inked Background Mountain Scene – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Technique Tuesday Blog Hop where we are sharing background techniques. I am sharing a piece of home décor created using ink blending and inspired by a card made by Michelle Zindorf.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the inked background mountain scene, you will need:

Basic White card – 6½” by 4½”
Frame – 7” by 5”

Using a 2½” Circle Punch from my stash I punched a mask from a Post It Note. I placed the mask on the Basic White panel, slightly above the middle.

A Mountain Scene piece of home decor made using the Scenic Adventures stamp set from Stampin' Up! with an ink blending technique

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Scenic Adventures stamp set used with tan ink blending technique to create a Mountain Scene piece of home decor – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

I used a Blending Brush to add Pool Party ink to the entire panel with the mask in position. Next, I added Summer Splash ink to the top and bottom of the panel leaving a rim around the mask and a strip of plain Pool Party across the masked area from the middle to near the bottom of the mask.

Azure Afternoon ink was then added, again leaving some of the Pool Party and Summer Splash ink visible and finished with a covering of Night of Navy ink concentrating in all four corners, along the top and the bottom. The mask was then removed.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Scenic Adventures stamp set used with tan ink blending technique to create a Mountain Scene piece of home decor – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

A piece of Post It note was then placed about ⅓ of the way up the moon from the bottom. A second Post It note was then torn into a jagged pattern before being applied to the top ⅓ of the moon. I used Gorgeous Grape ink and a Blending Brush to create mountains in the gap between the Post It notes. The jagged mask was then removed.

With the straight Post It note still in position I stamped a tree onto the inked panel with the bottom of the tree on the mask. I repeated this step to add the remaining trees before removing the Post It note.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Scenic Adventures stamp set used with tan ink blending technique to create a Mountain Scene piece of home decor – Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

I placed a piece of cellophane over the stamped trees with a sliver of the bottom showing. I inked up the trees again, stamped off on scrap paper and stamped a tree below and at the same approximate height as the full-strength tree above to provide a reflection. The cellophane was then removed.

I lightly added a little Pool Party ink to the ‘moon’ to make it less blindingly white and stamped the dotty image from the Coneflower Celebration stamp set with Whisper White ink to add stars to the sky. A white gel pen added texture to the wate.

Scenic Christmas card – Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Ink. Stamp. Share Blog Hop where we are showcasing something we have been working on recently. I am sharing a Christmas in July card made using the Scenic Adventure stamp set.

Colours used to make this card are:

To recreate the scenic Christmas card, you will need:

Shaded Spruce card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 4¾” by 2⅞”
Misty Moonlight card – 4⅝” by 2¾”
Basic White card – 4¾” by 3”
Misty Moonlight card – 2 ¾” by ¾”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾”

The large cloud image was randomly stamped in Shaded Spruce ink around the edge of the Shaded Spruce card front.

The Misty Moonlight rectangle was glued to the 4¾” by 2⅞” piece of Basic White card. A length of Silver Ribbon was wrapped around the panel, secured on the back with Sellotape before being glued to the Shaded Spruce card front.

Using the Perennial Postage Dies I die cut a rectangle from the 4¾” by 3” piece of Basic White card. I wanted the rectangle to be narrower so die cut it twice to make it smaller.

I used a Blending Brush and the torn edge of some printer paper to add some snowbanks to the bottom of the rectangle. A punched Post It Note 1” Circle was added to the die cut rectangle and Misty Moonlight ink was brushed on to create the ‘sky’. The Post It Note mask was then removed.

Using Shaded Spruce ink, first and second generation, I stamped the medium tree then the smallest tree onto the inked rectangle. The panel was then mounted onto the card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, from the Bauble Blooms stamp set was stamped in Versamark ink onto the strip of Misty Moonlight card. I covered it was Silver Embossing Powder and set it using my Heat Tool. I tucked the piece under the bottom edge of the decorated piece on the card front.

A ribbon bow and a trio of silver sequins completed the card.

Please hop on to see what my crafty friends have been using lately.
