Jungle Elephant card for the TV & Movies Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the TV & Movies Blog Hop where we are sharing ………   projects inspired by TV or Movies! I have used the Elephant Parade stamp set which, when I first saw it screamed  JUNGLE BOOK and that sweet little son of Colonel Hathi, leader of the elephant patrol.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the Jungle Elephant card, you will need:

Old Olive card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored and folded at 4⅛”
Basic White card – 3⅜” by 2⅞”
Basic White card – 3” by 2½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” for the inside
Scrap Basic White and Old Olive card

I stamped the group of leaves in 2nd generation Old Olive ink, randomly all over the Old Olive card front.

Using the ‘ground’ image from the Paradise Palms stamp set I stamped along the bottom of the small Basic White panel and added the ‘grasses’ in the same ink.

I punched a circle from a Post It Note using the ¾” Circle Punch and added it to the small panel to act as a mask. Using a Blending Brush, I swirled on Tahitian Tide ink to give a sky effect. The mask was then removed and a Dauber used to add a little So Saffron to the sun.

The sweet little elephant was stamped on scrap Basic White card using Basic Gray ink. I used Smoky Slate and Petal Pink Blends Pens and a Colour Lifter to colour in the image. The Elephant Dies were used to die cut the image before it was added to the inked panel using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The group of leaves were stamped in Old Olive ink onto scrap Old Olive card and die cut using the Elephant Dies. I used the same dies to die cut some grasses. The grasses were added to the panel to hide the legs of the little elephant. The decorated panel was glued to the Basic White layer and then mounted onto the Old Olive card front on Dimensionals.

The sentiment from the Sit. Stay. Relax stamp set was stamped on scrap Basic White card in Basic Gray ink, I trimmed down the scrap and tucked it under the raised panel.

A trio of Classic Matte Dots completed the card.
