FONTS-amental for the Stamping INKSpirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamping INKSpirations Blog Hop where we our theme is FONTS-amental. I love a good font and I especially love combining fonts which is so trendy right now.

Party Patterns dsp – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Party Patterns dsp – 4½” by 2½”
Basic White card – 4½” by 2½”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside

I selected the sentiments I thought would work together and ended up choosing from the following stamp sets – One Happy Family, Hey Birthday Chick, Garden Wishes, Elegantly Said & Season’s Blessings. I wanted a mixture of plain and quirky fonts.

A great masculine card made using the Welcoming Woods stamp set by Stampin' Up! and some ink blending

Welcoming Woods for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop where it is all about the males today. I have chosen to use the Welcoming Woods stamp set to make my card. Whether you have hopped over from Cheryl’s blog, loved her project or have started with me, please continue to hop to see what inspiration others have to share today.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the welcoming woods card, you will need:

Soft Suede card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Balmy Blue card – 4¾” by 3⅜” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 4½” by 3⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner – for the inside
Basic White card – ¼” strip

I stamped the tree trunks from the Welcoming Woods stamp set in Soft Suede ink onto the smaller panel of Basic White. I love all the texture and definition you get in this image; the trunks look so real.

The ‘ground’ was stamped in 2nd generation Soft Suede ink to give the effect of an horizon.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – The Welcoming Woods stamp set used for a masculine themed card for the Stamp ‘n Hop Blog Hop

I punched a circle using the 1” Circle Punch, placed it over the tree trunks to provide a ‘moon’. Using a Blending Brush I added Balmy Blue ink, lightly from the horizon line to the top of the card. I kept the colour light as I wanted a wintery sky effect. The masked circle was then removed.

The ground was coloured with a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink and I added the speckles from the Friends Are Like Seashells stamp set in 2nd and 3rd generation Soft Suede ink to give the ground some texture. The stamped panel was added to the Balmy Blue layer with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A special birthday funfold card made using the Beauty of Friendship stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Beauty of Friendship fun fold card

Here is a Beauty of Friendship fun fold card made for my daughter Camilla’s birthday. I saw LeeAnn Greff, a fellow demonstrator, demonstrate it on YouTube and I knew this was the perfect card for her as she loves the outdoors. I changed the dimensions to fit A4 card stock and also some of the colours.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the beauty of friendship card, you will need:

Soft Succulent card – 6½“ by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛” on the long side
Soft Succulent card – 3½” by 3” scored at ½” on the short side
Basic White card – 5⅝” by 3⅞”
Basic White card – 5⅝” by 2¼”
Basic White card – 3⅜” by 2½”
Soft Succulent card – 3” by 2½”
Basic White 2¼” by 2”
Scrap of Balmy Blue

I took the 2 scored pieces Soft Succulent, laid them on my work surface with the smaller panel on the right-hand side. Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, I adhered the ½” tab of the smaller piece to the larger panel.  You should then have a gate fold type card with a long thin left panel and a shorter, wider right-hand panel.

A special birthday funfold card made using the Beauty of Friendship stamp set by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A beautiful fun fold using the Beauty of Friendship stamp set for a special birthday card

I place the 3 largest panels of Basic White card stock onto my work surface. I punched a circle from a Post It Note using the ¾” Circle Punch and placed it in the upper left-hand corner of the smallest panel.

Using a Blending Brush I added Soft Sea Foam ink to all three of the panels. The ink was added gradually in circular motions, building up the colour slowly. I then added Soft Succulent ink around the edges of each panel in the same way.

A special birthday funfold card made using the Beauty of Friendship stamp set by Stampin' Up!

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A beautiful fun fold using the Beauty of Friendship stamp set for a special birthday card

The bare trees were then stamped in Soft Suede ink, 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation to give the effect of depth.

I added the ‘tree canopy’ image to the stamped full-strength tree on the smallest panel. I used the soft succulent ink and the spotty image to add some texture to all the panels

.

The stamped panels were then glued to the Soft Succulent card. The largest one on the inside, covering the ½” tab which holds them together.

Using the Stitched So Sweetly Dies and my Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine I cut a label from the remaining Soft Succulent piece and a smaller label from the Basic White piece.

The sentiment from the Hey Birthday Chick stamp set was stamped on the white label in Soft Succulent ink and I added a couple of small flowers in the same ink. The flowers were from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set.

The labels were then glued together. They were added to the left-hand panel of the card with a couple of Dimensionals. Make sure that the Dimensionals are well over to the left and that the right-hand panel of the card can tuck under.

To complete the card, I die cut 2 of the sweet little birds from the Beautiful Trees dies from scrap Balmy Blue card and added them to the card front. I used a Black Stampin’ Write Marker to add their eyes and a trio of Genial Gems.

The Watercolor Shapes stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a birthday card for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

Watercolor Shapes for the Color Combo Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the June 2021 Colour Combo blog hop – this month our colours are Polished Pink, Poppy Parade and Soft Sea Foam. I have chosen the Watercolor Shapes stamp set to make my card.

To recreate the Watercolor shapes card, you will need:

Soft Sea Foam card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded upper left corner
Polished Pink card – 5¼” by 3¼” – rounded upper left corner
Basic Black card – 4⅞” by 2⅞” – rounded upper left corner
Basic White card – 4¾” by 2¾” – rounded upper left corner
Basic Black card – 2½” by 1⅜”
Basic White card – 2⅜” by 1¼”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – rounded upper left corner for the inside

I have been playing around with the Watercolor Shapes stamp set this week and have decided to use it for todays color challenge.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty birthday card made using the Watercolor Shapes stamp set for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

I chose to use the 2 rectangular images and the square image and began by stamping the largest image in Soft Sea Foam. I stamped randomly all over the smallest Basic White panel.

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A pretty birthday card made using the Watercolor Shapes stamp set for the Colour Combo Blog Hop

I added the thinner rectangle in Polished Pink ink and finished with the square stamped in Poppy Parade ink. I deliberately over-lapped the images and colors. Don’t they work well together. The stamped panel was added to the Basic Black layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I wrapped a length of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the layer, securing it on the back with Sellotape and then glued it to the Polished Pink panel.

Using the Stamparatus I inked up the large birthday sentiment from the Biggest Wishes stamp set in Soft Sea Foam ink and stamped it onto the small panel of Basic White card. I added the scripty ‘happy’ in Poppy Parade ink. The sentiment was then added to the card base on Dimensionals.

Box of Pansies for the Share It Sunday Blog Hop

Hello and thank you for joining me for the Share It Sunday Blog Hop where we are sharing something we have been working on. I am sharing the sweet box of pansies I have made for my Mum’s birthday tomorrow. I used a Youtube video by Sally Stampers as my inspiration

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the box of pansies, you will need:

Early Espresso card – 7” by 3” – scored on the long side at 1” and 3”
Early Espresso card – 7” by 4” – scored on the long side at 4” and 6”
Early Espresso card – 5” by ½” x 2 – scored at either end at ½”
Basic White 3 ½” by 3 ½”
Evening Evergreen card – ⅛” by 3” strips – about 10
In Good Taste dsp – 4” by 2”
In Good Taste dsp – 2” by 2”
In Good Taste dsp – 4” by 4”
Pansy Petals dsp – the sheet of leaves
Scrap Basic White

Placing the short end of the larger piece of Early Espresso card at the top of the Trimmer, score lines nearest the top. I cut at 2” down to the 2nd score line. This will leave a 4” by 4” piece which will be the back panel of the box and a side piece measuring 3” with a score line in the middle.

A beautiful box of pansies for my Mum's birthday and for the Share It Sunday Blog Hop

www.crafty-rootes.co.uk – A box of Pansies for Mum’s birthday made for the Share It Sunday Blog Hop

Fold and burnish the score lines on both the large Early Espresso panels. Adhere the panels together using the 1” tabs using a strong glue, I used Tear and Tape. This forms the box.

Fold and burnish the ½” tabs on the tin strip of Early Espresso card and attach these inside the box. I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to do this so that I could manoeuvre them into position.

I stamped a section of pansies, 3 large and 14 small onto scrap Basic White card. The colour combinations I used were.

1st generation Polished Pink outline, 2nd generation Polished Pink solid image and Merry Merlot for the bearded part. 1st generation Fresh Freesia outline, 2nd generation Fresh Freesia solid image and Gorgeous Grape for the bearded part.

1st generation Bermuda Bay outline, 2nd generation Bermuda Bay solid image and Misty Moonlight for the bearded part.

The centres were stamped in Bumblebee ink. The flowers were then die cut using the Pansy Dies. The leaves were die cut from the Pansy Petals dsp.

Using liquid glue, I added the 3 large pansies to the back panel of the box making sure not to place them to high as I wanted the card to fit into a standard C6 envelope. I added some of the smaller flowers to the front panel using the same glue.

I added the ⅛” strips of Evening Evergreen card to the other small pansies and added them at different heights to the inside panels, snipping off the excess. I added the leaves with a dot of liquid glue. Taking care that the card when folded down will still fit within the envelope.

Color & Contour stamp set by Stampin' Up! used to make a pair of cards using a modified one sheet wonder

Modified One Sheet Wonder

Today I am sharing 2 sweet floral cards made using a modified one sheet wonder (I only used ½ a sheet of card stock) and the new Color & Contour stamp set. This set is so versatile and so easy to use. I also used the gorgeous new 2021 – 2023 in colors.

Colours used in this project are:

To recreate the modified one sheet wonder cards, you will need:

Basic White card 7¾” by 5½”
Scrap Basic White for the sentiments

Polished Pink card base
Soft Succulent 5⅝ by 4”
Basic White 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

Evening Evergreen card base
Polished Pink 5⅝” by 4”
Basic White 5½” by 3¾” for the inside

I began by stamping the outline large flower in clusters of 3 down the centre of the large panel of Basic White. I used Evening Evergreen ink and 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping.  The flowers were in-filled using the solid stamp and Polished Pink ink, again using 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation stamping.

The outline spray of flowers was stamped in Evening Evergreen ink, I chose not to ink up the full stem of this image. The infill colour for this image was stamped in 1st generation Pale Papaya ink

Using Soft Succulent ink, I filled in some of the gaps using the outline leaf image using 1st and 2nd generation stamping.

Next, I added an outline bud in 1st and 2nd generation Soft Succulent ink and added the Fresh Freesia ink as the fill in using 1st generation only.

The speckles were added in 2nd and 3rd generation Soft Succulent ink. When all this was done, I cut the panel in half on the long side at 3¾”. I wrapped a length of Polished Pink Open Weave Ribbon around one of the panels.

Using the Penned Flower dies and my Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine I die cut a scalloped border down the right side of the Soft Succulent and Polished Pink panels. The stamped panels were then added with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I trimmed the Polished Pink piece on the left-hand side as I had managed not to cut the panel straight. They were then added to the Evening Evergreen and Polished Pink card bases on Dimensionals. I added a small piece of Evening Evergreen Open Weave Ribbon to the Evening Evergreen card.

The sentiments came from the Many Messages stamp set, stamped using a Stamparatus on a panel of Basic White card and die cut using the Messages Dies. I keep the spares in a box for when I need a small sentiment, like today. They were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The chosen sentiments were added on Dimensionals to the card front.

I added a Polished Pink bow to the pink card with a Mini Glue Dot and to complete each card I added a trio of 2021 – 2023 In Color Jewels.
