A pretty cake themed card, perfect for a birthday celebration

Cake Anyone? – I love a bit of cake and have found myself baking regularly while we are in lock down, trying out all sorts of new recipes – favourite so far is Rhubarb and Orange……. Yum…..

To recreate the cake anyone? card you will need :

Thick Whisper White – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Blushing Bride – 5⅞” by 4⅛”
Silver Foil – 5” by ½”
Rich Razzelberry – 4” by 3”
Whisper White – 3½” by 2½”

I ran the Blushing Bride panel through the Big Shot inside the gorgeous Ornate Floral Embossing Folder. I then cut the panel down on a diagonal – this will give 2 pieces for 2 separate cards.

A silver foil strip was added to the top of the embossed panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. The whole piece was then added to the Thick Whisper White card base.

I stamped the sweet cake and cake stand from the Piece of Cake stamp set, onto the Whisper White panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The sentiment was added beneath in Rich Razzelberry ink.

I used the Rich Razzelberry Blends combo to colour in the cake icing. The cake stand was coloured using the Blushing Bride Marker Pen.

The stamped panel was the cut out using the Stitched So Sweetly dies and a larger rectangle was cut from the Rich Razzelberry layer. These were glued together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added to the card front on Dimensionals.

I coloured 3 Basic Pearls with the dark Rich Razzelberry Blends marker and added them to the card front.

Summertime – Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to this months Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop, my name is Mo Rootes and I live near Cambridge in the UK.

Our theme this month is Summertime, Summertime. I am so looking forward to the warmer weather and hopefully being able to get out and about a bit more – Covid-19 permitting. I have chosen to use the gorgeous Beautiful Moments stamp set for my cards

To recreate the Summertime card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Best dressed dsp – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Highland Heather 3⅝” by 2⅝”
Whisper White 3½” by 2½”
Whisper White ¼” strip

I adhered the gorgeous Best Dressed dsp to the front of the Thick Whisper White card base using Snail adhesive.

The lovely mother and daughter image from the Beautiful Moments stamp set was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the small panel of Whisper White card.

I used pieces of sponge to lightly apply So Saffron ink to the bottom of the panel and Highland Heather to the top of the panel.

The mother and daughter were then stamped onto scrap pieces of dsp from the Best Dressed dsp pack. The dresses were then fussy cut out using sharp scissors. The dresses were then glued on using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I coloured the mother and daughter in with the following Blends Markers – So Saffron combo, Bronze & Ivory.

The stamped panel was adhered with Snail to the Highland Heather layer. I used Dimensionals to add the layer to the card front.

The sentiment from the Timeless Tulips stamp set was stamped on the Whisper White strip with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I trimmed it down with scissors and added it to the card front.

I used the same image, dsp and colours to make an alternative version on a Purple Posy card base.

A hot air balloon themed card made using Stampin' Up! Product

Above the Clouds

Here is a sweet card made using the soon to be retiring Above the Clouds stamp set teamed up with the gorgeous Mountain Air stamp set.

To recreate the Above the Clouds card you will need:

Thick Whisper White card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded lower left corner
Blueberry Bushel – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded lower left corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded lower left corner – one for the inside
Scrap Whisper White and Crumb Cake

Taking one of the Whisper White layers I added Blueberry Bushel ink using a Sponge Brayer to achieve an ombre effect from side to side.

Using Soft Suede ink I stamped the detailed and the solid mountain images from the Mountain Air stamp set along the bottom of the inked panel. The panel was then adhered to the Blueberry Bushel layer with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive, then to the Thick Whisper White card base with the same glue.

I stamped the 3 hot air balloons in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto scrap Whisper White card and punched them out using the Hot Air Balloon Punch. The left hand balloons was coloured using 2^nd generation Grapefruit Grove ink with detail added using the Grapefruit Grove Stamp ‘n write marker. The bunting was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and coloured using the light Lovely Lipstick, Pineapple Punch and Call Me Clover Blends Markers.

The middle balloon was coloured using the Lovely Lipstick combo, Pineapple Punch combo and Call Me Clover combo Blends Markers. The left hand balloon was coloured using full strength Pineapple Punch ink. The balloons were added to the card front using either the liquid adhesive or Dimensionals.

The baskets were stamped in Crumb Cake ink onto scrap Crumb Cake card and punched out using the Hot Air Balloon Punch. They were added below the balloons using both liquid adhesive or Dimensionals. The birds from the Above the Clouds and Mountain Air stamp sets were stamped in Soft Suede ink.

The sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set was stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink and added to the yellow balloon to complete the card.

Two little girls on a beach birthday card made using the Beautiful Moments stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Beach Babies

Today I am sharing an adorable beach babies card made using the Beautiful Moments stamp set and the gorgeous Best Dressed designer series paper (dsp).

To recreate the beach babies card you will need:

I adhered the gorgeous Best Dressed dsp to the front of the Thick Whisper White card base using Snail adhesive.

The 2 adorable little girls from the Beautiful Moments stamp set were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto the small panel of Whisper White card.

I punched a circle from a Post It Note using the ¾” Circle Punch and added it to the stamped panel. I used pieces of sponge to lightly apply So Saffron ink to the bottom of the panel and Highland Heather to the top of the panel. Remove the post It Note circle.

Stamp the girls onto scrap pieces of dsp from the Best Dressed dsp pack. The dress of each girl was then fussy cut out using sharp scissors. The dresses were then glued on using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive. I coloured the girls in with the following Blends Markers – So Saffron combo, Purple Posy combo, Bronze & Ivory.

Piano for the Stamper’s Showcase Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stamper’s Showcase blog hop where this month’s theme is the ‘Occasions catalogue’ – so many stunning sets to choose from and I chose to use the piano image from the Music From the Heart stamp set to make my card.

To recreate the Piano card you will need:

Highland Heather card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Whisper White – 4⅛” by 2¼”
Coastal Cabana – 5” by ½” x 2

I stamped the treble cleft image in Highland Heather ink onto the Highland Heather card front for the tone on tone effect.

The piano was stamped in Basic Gray ink onto the strip of Whisper White and coloured in using the following Blends Pens – Purple Posy combo and Pool Party combo.

I die cut the beautiful lacy borders using the Arts & Crafts and the strips of Coastal Cabana. They were adhered to the stamped Whisper White panel with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

The panel was then added to the card front using Dimensionals.

A quirky birthday card featuring a gang of adorable meerkats

Birthday Meerkats

Here is an adorable birthday card featuring the cute group of Meerkats and made using the Sale-a-Bration stamp set, The Gangs All Meer. This is one of the items you can chose for free with a £45 order.

To recreate the Birthday Meerkats card you will need:

Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded upper right corner
Granny Apple Green – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – Rounded upper right corner
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – – Rounded upper right corner x 2

I stamped the adorable group of Meerkats in Early Espresso ink onto one of the Whisper White panels. The cactus plants were added in Granny Apple Green ink.

I used the Crumb Cake combo Blends Markers to colour in the Meerkats and the Granny Apple Green combo to colour in the cactus plants with the Lovely Lipstick combo used to colour the cactus flowers.

The ground was added using the Light Petal Pink Blends Marker and the sky with the Light Seaside Spray Blends Marker. The stamped panel was then added to the Granny Apple Green layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I wrapped some of the thick Nature’s Roots Twine around the top of the pane, secured it on the back with Sellotape and added a bow using a Mini Glue Dot.

The panel was then added to the Crumb Cake card base on Dimensionals. The card was finished with a trio of Woven Threads Sequins

The Gangs All Meer

Today I am sharing a cute, quirky card made using a new Sale-A-Bration stamp set from Stampin’ Up! called The Gangs All Meer.

To recreate the Gangs All Meer card you will need:

Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” for the inside
Whisper White – 3” by 3”
Mossy Meadow – 2⅞” by 2⅞”
Whisper White – 2¾” by 2¾”
Scrap Whisper White

I die cut three squares from the three square panels of card stock.

The cactus image was stamped across the bottom of the card front in Crumb Cake ink.

I stamped the adorable group of meerkats in Soft Suede ink onto the smallest Whisper White square and coloured them in using the Crumb Cake combo of Blends Markers. The ground was added with the light Mossy Meadow Blends Marker.

The background sky was added with So Saffron ink and a Sponge. The three squares were adhered together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive then mounted on the card front with Dimensionals.

I stamped the sentiment in Mossy Meadow ink onto scrap Whisper White card and trimmed down using my Paper Trimmer. It was added to the card front with the liquid glue.

Here is a sweet and simple Balloon Birthday card suitable for a child or teenager made using the gorgeous Birthday Bonanza Designer Series Paper.

To recreate the Balloon Birthday card you will need:

Bermuda Bay card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Whisper White – 5½” by 3¾” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Birthday Bonanza dsp – 5¼” by 3½” – Rounded Upper Left corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅜” – Rounded Upper Left corner – for the inside
Calypso Coral 3” by 2”
Whisper White 2” by 2”

Using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive I glued the gorgeous designer Series Paper to the larger Whisper White panel.

I wrapped the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon around the panel twice securing it on the back with Sellotape. Both panels were then glued to the Bermuda Bay card base using the Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment from the Peaceful Moments stamp set in Bermuda Bay ink onto the small panel of Whisper White and dies cut it using the Stitched Shapes Dies.

The scalloped oval was cut using the Layering Oval Dies and the 2 ovals were glued together with Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and added over the Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon on Dimensionals.

I added a bow made from the same ribbon using a Mini Blue Dot.

A strip of dsp was added to the remaining Whisper White panel and added to the inside of the card using the liquid glue.

Today I am sharing a sweet Little Ladybug birthday card, although in the UK we call them Ladybirds. This set is a host set available with an order of £275 or more. The images are so cute.

To recreate the Little ladybug card you will need:

Balmy Blue card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛” – rounded lower right corner
Real Red – 5¼” by 3½” – rounded lower right corner
Whisper White 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded lower right corner for the inside
Whisper White 5⅛” by 3⅜” – rounded lower right corner

I stamped the adorable little ladybug onto the smaller Whisper White panel using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

I used the following Blends Markers to colour in the bug – Real Red combo, Smoky Slate combo and Basic Black combo.

I used a piece of Sponge to add some Balmy Blue ink around the bug, working it in with circular motions.

The sentiment was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I added the stamped panel onto the Real Red layer using Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive.

I wrapped the Real Red Cotton Ribbon around the layer adhering it on the back with sellotape. I added a bow made with the same ribbon.

The whole layer was glued to the Balmy Blue card base using Dimensionals. The card was completed by a trio of Red Rhinestones.

Here is a sweet and simple card floral band card made using the Band Together stamp set.

To recreate the Floral Band Together card you will need:

Crumb Cake card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” scored at 4⅛”
Basic Black – 5 ½” by 3 ¾” – rounded upper right and lower left corners
Whisper White – 5⅜” by 3⅝” – rounded upper right and lower left corners x 2
Scrap Whisper White

The large floral image was stamped on one of the Whisper White panels using Basic Gray ink.

I coloured the image using the following Blends Markers – Rococo Rose combo, Granny Apple Green combo & So Saffron combo.

I used Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive to adhere the stamped panel to the Basic Black layer and added the whole piece to the Crumb Cake card base with Dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped in Basic Gray ink and die cut using the Detailed Bands dies. I trimmed off one side and added it to the card base with the same liquid glue. I coloured some Basic Pearls in using the dark Rococo Rose Blends pen.

I stamped the flower in Rococo Rose ink onto the remaining Whisper White panel and glued inside the card. The same image was used to decorate the front of the envelope.
