Encircled Shaker cards – Christmas Stampathon

On the 25th of each month a new challenge is issued by the Christmas Stampathon team and this month we have to create multiple Christmas cards on the theme of ‘Make It Clear’. I made encircled shaker cards using Window sheet and the Encircle In Nature stamp set.

Colours used in these cards are:

To recreate the encircled shaker card, you will need:

Garden Green card base – 8¼” by 5⅞” – scored at 4⅛”
Balmy Blue card – 5⅜” by 3⅝”
Basic White card – 5¼” by 3½”
Window Sheet – 3¾” by 3⅜”
Basic White card – 5½” by 3¾” – for the inside
Scrap Garden Green card

Using Whisper White ink, I stamped the 2 cloud images from the Under The Moon stamp set onto the upper half of the piece of Balmy Blue card.

A circle was die cut, using the Stylish Shapes Dies, in the upper half of the 5¼” by 3½” panel of Basic White card. I adhered the panel of Window Sheet to the back of the die cut circle, holding it in place with Mini Glue Dots.

I tore a piece of copy paper to give a ragged edge and used it with a Blending Brush to apply Balmy Blue ink to the die cut panel to give the impression of banks of snow. I stamped the sentiment, from the retired Ringed With Nature stamp set, in Garden Green ink onto the inked card.

I applied Foam Adhesive Strips around the circular aperture, over the Window Sheet. I also added pieces of the Foam Adhesive strip to the bottom and sides of the panel.

Placing the Balmy Blue panel on my desk, I added 2 or 3 pinches of white sequins, stars and snowflakes onto the stamped clouds. I removed the backing from the Adhesive Strips and placed the panel down onto the Balmy Blue panel, making sure that the sequins remained inside the circular area.

From scrap Garden Green card, I die cut pine trees using the Encircled In Nature Dies. These were added to the card front, overlapping the clear circle. The whole panel was then adhered to the Garden Green card base.
